Evelyn L. Romel

Evelyn L. Romel, 80, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at her home.  She was born in Bellaire, Ohio, July 17th 1939. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, D.L. Romel.

She is being welcomed into Heaven by those who preceded her,  her father Steve Valloric & mother, Frances Valloric Miller. Her Step Father, Bill Miller. Two grandchildren, Ryan & Christopher Ciciarelli.

Surviving are daughters, Cathy (Charles) Morelli of Steubenville, Cindy Romel of Steubenville, sons, David (Sharon) Romel of Olmsted Falls, Ohio and Doug (Fiancé Debbie) Romel of Steubenville.

Brothers, Steve (Patricia) Valloric of Bellaire, Louis (Sharon) Valloric of Bellaire, Mike (Fiancé Alice) Miller of Canton, a step sister, Sandra Meda of  Detroit, brother-in-law, Jim Brown of Moundsville and sister in law Irene Wells of North Carolina.  

She was a grandmother of five grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces & nephews.

She was an alumnus of the former St. John Elementary and St. John High School in Bellaire.

Evelyn was retired from Waldenbooks as Senior Sales Clerk for 22 years. Recently, she was a part-time clerk at the Checkered Flag Café in Weirton.

A member of Triumph of the Cross Parish (Holy Rosary Church). She was a member of the CWC and during the 90’s & 2000’s was a volunteer at Holy Rosary Bingo’s.

A loving wife, a wonderful mother & grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her & will be missed dearly.

Calling hours will be Friday from 3-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be Saturday at 11:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be Friday at 6:45 pm.
