James M. Trimmer, 92, of Steubenville died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Lancia’s Villa Royale. He was born October 23, 1926 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late James and Jennie Fellows Trimmer. Also preceding him in death are his wife Clara D’Aurora Trimmer; son James Trimmer; two brothers Robert and William Trimmer; four sisters Mary Conley, Edith Lorello, Edna Kelley and Clara Barton.
James was retired from Weirton Steel where he was a Tandem Mill roller for over 40 years and also worked fro the Jefferson County Department of Weights and Measures. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. James was a member of the American Legion Argonne Post 33, the Jefferson County Democratic Party, CAC, past President of the Jefferson County Prevention and Recovery Board and the Civil Service Commission.
Surviving are three sons William (Mary) of Toronto, Richard (Rosann) and Ronald (Lita) both of Steubenville; one daughter Gale Trimmer of Steubenville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Saturday, June 8, from 9 am until time of services at 11 am at Finley United Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Ave., Steubenville. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
