Joseph Baker Obituary

Joseph Clayton Baker, 85, of Steubenville passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Trinity West Hospital. He was born June 19, 1934 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late George and Nancy Anderson Baker. He is also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters Berdina, George, Elsie, Betty, Alan, John, Ray; son Curtis James and an infant son Joseph Clayton II.

Joseph was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he was a crane operator at the B.O.F. for 44 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post 33. Joseph was also known to be an avid bowler.

Surviving are his wife Joann Ferguson Baker, whom he married June 19, 1960; one son Charles (Bobbie Jo) Baker of Steubenville; one daughter Christy Jo (Daniel) Isaac of Huntersville, NC; one sister Nancy Louise (William) Choiecj of Steubenville; three grandchildren and one great grandson.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home, Bill Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
