Rose R. Sczruba, 100, of Steubenville died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Trinity West. She was born January 11, 1918 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Antonio and Mariann Pannetta Cilli. She is also preceded in death by her husband John Sczruba; stepmother Adeline Cilli; one brother Arthur Chill; three sisters Helen Pompa, Edith Lako, Mary Chill and one grandson Jarret Sczruba.
Rose worked as a Beautician for many years. She was a member of the former St. Anthony's Catholic Church and it's Women's Club. She was now a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish.
Rose was an active member of the Steubenville Women's Bowling Association, Catholic Daughters of America Court 431, St. Francis Society of Holy Family Church, The Friendship Club and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary club.
Thing she enjoyed included bowling, going on trip with friends, playing cards, bingo and going to the casino.
Surviving are two sons Ronald (Carol) Sczruba of Wintersville and John (Lynne) Sczruba of Phoenix; one daughter Shirley (Tony) Guida of Steubenville; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy will be held Wednesday at 11:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Ryan Gray will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be Tuesday at 3 pm.
