Bonnie "Bubbles" Runkel

Bonnie "Bubbles" Loreen Ellis Runkel born April 12, 1938 passed away on May 17, 2022 at Trinity Medical Center surrounded by her loving children. Bonnie was the epitome of a matriarch, the queen of her family. The love she had for her family was unmatched. Her generous spirit and sense of humor was contagious and so wonderful to be around. Her jovial, friendly, bold personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She never met a stranger and could converse with anyone. Everyone you meet has an amazing "Bonnie Runkel" story. One of her favorite places was at the Casino playing Slot Machines.

She is the daughter of the late Paul and Helen Douds Ellis. She is also preceded in death by her husband Ronald Runkel; sister JoAnn Lutz and daughter Robin Darrow.

Bonnie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was Methodist by faith.

Surviving are two sons Ronald (Sandra) and Robert  (Mary) both of Steubenville; one daughter Kathy Cardiff of Steubenville; seven grandchildren Ryan, Kari, Molly, Raeni, Robyn, Paul and Rebekah; eight great grandchildren Addison, Oberyn, Albus, Marley, Brody, Hudson, Kennedy and Serena.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 am until time of services at 12 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Pastor Michael Heckathorn will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
