Obituary
Jason D. Hughes, 54, of Toronto died Monday, March 20, 2023 at Trinity West ER. He was born March 24, 1968 in Steubenville. He is the son of Otis and Frances Portocarrero Hughes. Jason is preceded in death by one brother Derek Hughes.
Jason was a Press Lead at Trivium Packaging in Weirton. He was a union member and steward for UFCW Local 1776. Jason was an avid golfer and life long fan of Big Red, Ohio State and the Steelers. He was a graduate of Steubenville High School class of 1986.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sons Jason D. Hughes Jr. of Davenport, FL and Tristan (Kailey Pytash) Hughes of Toronto; one brother Darin (Ruth) Hughes of Toronto; three sisters Valerie (Joe) Reda of Las Vegas, Cheryl (Jimmy) DeFrank of Steubenville and Kathleen (Steve) Duco of Toronto; one granddaughter Hallie Jo Hughes.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Greco will officiate.
