Nancy M. Monti

Nancy M. Monti, 98, of Steubenville, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at her home. She was born on August 12, 1923, in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Dr. C.W. and Martha (Crawford) Sunseri. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil V. Monti Sr.; two sisters, Martha O'Neil and Margaret DiPasquale.

Nancy was a graduate of Steubenville Business College and retired from the Ohio License Bureau, where she was a Deputy Registrar for many years.

Nancy was an avid bridge player throughout her life and collected antiques. She belonged to Questers and was a member of the Ohio Valley Hemlock Twig.  

Upon retiring, Nancy traveled with friends throughout Europe many times. She loved planting and gardening flowers, especially roses, and watching Steelers, Notre Dame, and Ohio State football. Her family was most important to her.

Surviving are three sons Col. (Retired) Virgil Jr. (Deborah) of Universal City, TX, Gary (Jeny) of Dublin, OH, and Mark Sr. (Carolyn) of Steubenville; three daughters Pamela Ann (Robert) DiBacco of Steubenville, Nancy (Kent) Lhamon of Reynoldsburg, OH and Kim (Bram) Stolk of Salt Lake City, UT; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.  

Friends are invited to a Funeral Liturgy with Mass on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Nancy belonged to Triumph of the Cross Parish. Memorial contributions may be made to Triumph of the Cross, 200 Rosemont Ave., Steubenville, OH 43952.
