Patricia Faye “Patsy” (Ruth) Mondin, 77, died peacefully and surrounded by family on February 3, 2020 at Valley Hospice in Steubenville after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
“Patsy” was born on June 14, 1942 in Steubenville to George and Mary Franckhauser Ruth. She attended St. Peter’s elementary and was a 1960 graduate of Catholic Central HIgh School. Quick-witted, kind and a friend to everyone, Patsy loved playing cards in many card clubs and was considered a great Euchre-player. She is survived by her son, John Mondin (Marilyn) of New York City and daughter, Monica Boduszek (Edward) of Broadview Heights, grandson, Casey and granddaughter, Mallory, who lovingly referred to her at “GaGa Patsy”. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Hagerty, of Davenport, Florida and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Mertz and brother, Bill Ruth.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 7, from 5-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 524 N 5th St, Steubenville. Burial will take place at a later date.
